If you have ever stared at an app asking for a “URL” and wondered which of the long addresses in your welcome message it means, this page is for you.
What are the three addresses?
| Name | Looks like | Used by |
|---|---|---|
| Playlist URL (M3U) | http://server.example:25461/get.php?username=…&password=…&type=m3u_plus |
VLC, TiviMate (M3U option), GSE, most players |
| Server URL (Xtream Codes API) | http://server.example:25461 |
IPTV Smarters Pro, TiviMate (Xtream option), IBO Player |
| Portal URL | http://server.example:25461/c/ |
MAG boxes and Stalker-style apps |
The server URL is the start of the playlist URL. If an app asks for “server”, “host”, “DNS” or “portal” plus a username and password, give it only the part up to and including the port number (:25461 in the example).
Which should you use?
Use the Xtream Codes log-in where an app offers it. It loads channels, the TV guide and the film library separately, so big line-ups open faster and the library shows posters and descriptions. Use the playlist URL for players that only take M3U, such as VLC.
How do you enter it on common devices?
- Fire TV Stick or Android box with TiviMate: Add playlist → Xtream Codes → server, username, password.
- IPTV Smarters Pro on any device: Add user → Login with Xtream Codes API.
- Samsung or LG TV with IBO Player: note the MAC address and device key on screen, then add the playlist URL on IBO’s website.
- MAG box: Settings → Servers → Portals → enter the portal URL.
Step-by-step pages for each app are in apps, and for each device in devices.
